Asana Integration
Connect Asana to Triagly and create tasks directly from customer feedback with one click.
How It Works
Connect Asana
Add your Asana Personal Access Token in your dashboard settings and select a project.
Review Feedback
AI classifies and prioritizes your feedback. When something needs action, you're ready.
Create Tasks
Push feedback to Asana as tasks with one click. Title, description, and tags are pre-filled by AI.
What You Get
- Quick Setup: Connect with a Personal Access Token in under a minute
- AI-Prefilled Tasks: Title, description, and tags are generated from the feedback
- Project Selection: Choose which Asana project to create tasks in
- Task Linking: Created tasks link back to the original feedback in Triagly
Quick Setup
Prerequisites
- A Triagly account with admin access to your organization
- An Asana account with access to the project you want to use
- At least one project created in Triagly
Create an Asana Personal Access Token
Go to the Asana Developer Console, click Create new token, and give it a description like "Triagly Integration". Copy the token.
Navigate to Settings
Log in to your Triagly dashboard, open your project, and go to Settings from the sidebar. Scroll to the Issue Tracker Integrations section.
Add Your Token
Click Add Connection > Asana, paste your Personal Access Token, and select the workspace and project where tasks should be created.
Start Creating Tasks
That's it! You can now create Asana tasks directly from any feedback item using the "Create Issue" button.
Creating Tasks from Feedback
Once connected, you can create Asana tasks from any feedback item:
- From feedback detail — click "Create Issue" on any feedback item
- AI-prefilled — title, description, and tags are generated from the AI analysis
- Edit before creating — review and modify the task before it's created in Asana
- Linked back — the Asana task URL appears on the feedback item for easy reference
Permissions & Security
Token Access
Asana Personal Access Tokens grant access to all workspaces and projects your account belongs to. Triagly only uses the token to:
Read workspacesList your workspaces and projects for the setup dropdown
Create tasksCreate new tasks in the selected project when you click "Create Issue"
Security Details
- Tokens are stored server-side only, never exposed to the browser
- All data is encrypted at rest and in transit
- You can revoke the token at any time from Asana's Developer Console
- For organizations, consider using a dedicated service account for the integration
Disconnecting
To remove the Asana integration:
- Go to Settings > Issue Tracker Integrations
- Find your Asana connection
- Click Disconnect and confirm
Previously created tasks remain in Asana. Disconnecting only removes Triagly's ability to create new tasks. You should also revoke the token in Asana's Developer Console.
Troubleshooting
Authentication Failed
If your token is rejected when connecting:
- 1. Check the token — make sure you copied the full token from Asana's Developer Console
- 2. Token may be expired — Asana tokens don't expire by default, but they can be revoked. Create a new one if needed
- 3. Check your account — ensure your Asana account is active and has access to the workspace
Task Creation Failed
If clicking "Create Issue" shows an error:
- 1. Verify the connection — check Settings to confirm Asana is still connected
- 2. Check project access — ensure your account still has write access to the selected project
- 3. Token may be revoked — if someone revoked the token in Asana, create a new one and reconnect
Projects Not Loading
If the project dropdown is empty after entering your token:
- 1. Check your workspace — ensure at least one project exists in the selected workspace
- 2. Check permissions — your account may not have access to any projects in that workspace
- 3. Try a new token — create a fresh token and reconnect
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a paid Asana plan?
No. The integration works with Asana's free Personal plan and all paid plans. Personal Access Tokens are available on every tier.
Can I choose which project to create tasks in?
Yes. You set a default project during setup. Tasks are created in this project when you click "Create Issue" from a feedback item.
Do tokens expire?
Asana Personal Access Tokens don't expire automatically. They remain valid until you revoke them in Asana's Developer Console.
Should I use a personal account or a service account?
For teams, we recommend creating a dedicated service account (e.g., "[email protected]") so the integration isn't tied to an individual. For personal use, your own account works fine.
What happens to tasks if I disconnect?
Tasks already created in Asana remain untouched. Disconnecting only removes Triagly's ability to create new tasks. The links on feedback items will still point to the existing Asana tasks.
